EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (AP) — Authorities in East Grand Forks have arrested a man found hiding outside in subzero temperatures after an alleged domestic disturbance.
The 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a manhunt that lasted for over an hour.
WDAZ-TV reports the man was hiding outside in a shed and was wearing only socks, sweatpants and a T-shirt. The temperature was 10 below zero with a wind chill of 30 below.
Police were called to a trailer park around 10:30 a.m. after the man allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a gun.
Police say no handgun was found but officers are still searching.
The man was examined at a hospital for possible hypothermia. Police say he gave a false name when he was arrested and may be living in the U.S. illegally.
