VIRGINIA, Minn. (AP) — An office at the St. Louis County courthouse will reopen Monday after a suspicious letter caused an evacuation.
According to a news release from the county sheriff’s office, a letter containing a powder was found around 11 a.m. Friday at the Court Administrator’s office. The office was evacuated for the rest of the day as a precaution.
Sgt. Nate Skelton said Saturday the powder was tested by the Minnesota State Health Department and found not to be harmful.
Sheriff’s officials are investigating who sent the letter.
The Minnesota Duty Officer and Department of Homeland Security assisted.
