MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – St. Paul Police are looking for a suspect accused of stealing a service dog outside a local gas station.
According to authorities, the dog was stolen around 7:10 p.m. Sunday outside the Super America at 399 N. Lexington. A woman told police she tied up her dog to an air pump and went inside for about 10 minutes.
When she came out, the dog was gone but the leash was still there.
The dog is described as a white shih-poo named Gummy Bear. The dog was wearing a green vest at the time of the theft.
Police say the dog is a service dog to help its owner with seizures.
They are currently reviewing surveillance tapes of the incident. Officers say an older silver car pulled up, the suspect got out and took the dog.
Anyone with information is asked to call St. Paul Police.
