MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An alert to take shelter has been lifted at Minnesota State University – Mankato after school authorities say a “non-student” suffered a non-life-threatening cut to his hand.
Earlier Friday, the school texted students and parents saying that there’d been a reported stabbing at McElroy Hall, a student residence. The offender was said to be at large and students were told to take shelter.
That call to shelter has been lifted, the school said.
In a press release, the school said the incident was not random and that campus security is working with local law enforcement.
There was no word if an arrest had been made.
If you know anything about the incident, call Mankato police at 507-387-8780.
Mankato is about 80 miles southwest of the Twin Cities.
