MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – More than a hundred photos presented in court Tuesday showed evidence of blood throughout a St. Paul home at the center of the Jeffery Trevino murder trial.
Thirty-nine-year-old Trevino is accused of killing his wife, Kira Steeger, last February.
In court Tuesday, a BCA crime scene investigator explained how tests found traces of blood throughout the couple’s home, mostly concentrated in the bedroom, hallways, kitchen, and on a carpet cleaner left in the dining room.
Trevino’s attorney argued the tests are highly sensitive and can react positively to other items, like household cleaners and metal.
He also argued you can’t assume whose blood it was since the tests could pick up evidence from long ago.
Kira’s grandfather also testified. He said he was the one who found a bag of bloody items near Keller Lake while searching in March.
