LONG PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a Long Prairie man with killing his ex-wife.
Forty-six-year-old Craig Lamont Williams was charged Friday in Todd County with second-degree murder.
According to the complaint, Williams called 911 Thursday and asked for an ambulance for a gunshot wound at a home south of Long Prairie.
The Long Prairie Leader reports a deputy going to the scene found Craig Williams and two boys walking on a highway. Williams asked to be put in the deputy’s car.
The deputy found the body of Nancy Williams on the kitchen floor. A cast iron anvil was found near her face.
According to the complaint, Nancy Williams had gone to a neighbor’s and said her ex-husband was threatening her. She then returned home.
Bail for Craig Williams was set at $2 million.
