MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Investigators are looking for the public’s help in finding three people believed to be wedding day thieves.
Video surveillance gave police a good look at the two people who invited themselves to Jesse and Jill Goembel’s special day at Edinburgh Country Club in Brooklyn Park.
The video showed a man, now identified as Derrick Duane Manson, walking off with their card box on July 6.
Investigators believe what happened in Brooklyn Park on is connected to a similar incident on July 24 at the Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake.
“We’ve obtained videotape from not only the Ham Lake venue but also a Target store nearby, and we can confirm we believe the suspects are the same,” said Cmdr. Paul Sommer, of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
The wedding crashers are accused of stealing cash, gift cars and personal checks.
Investigators believe Manson was working with Sara Rose Lindstrom in the Brooklyn Park theft. Additionally, police say Aaron Ray Martin was his accomplice in the other.
Both times the thieves tried to use stolen gift cards at a Target store.
“All we want is for the public to help us find these people, we haven’t been able to locate them,” said Inspector Todd Milburn with Brooklyn Park Police.
Police say Manson, Lindstrom and Martin have extensive criminal pasts.
“Law enforcement has had numerous contacts with these individuals both in Anoka County and Hennepin County. They’ve been around quite a while, and they have quite the long history with law enforcement,” Sommer said.
Investigators want to limit their days on the run. If you know where these individuals are, call police.
Investigators say these individuals are very transient and believe they may have even tried to change their appearance by cutting or coloring their hair.
