MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Beltrami County earlier this week turned himself in.
The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says a 58-year-old man contacted the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office Friday morning and identified himself as the driver in a Wednesday crash on Grange Road that killed Christopher Strong. Authorities say the man’s vehicle, a red Monte Carlo, was seized and taken to a law enforcement facility for a forensic examination.
Authorities are not releasing any other information at this time and said Strong’s cause of death is still under investigation.
The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Red Lake and Leech Lake Police and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
