MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -– A man faces six felony counts for allegedly robbing a bar at gunpoint while drunk and high on cocaine, and then crashing into a car during the ensuing police chase, injuring a father and his 1-year-old son.

Kevin Greene, 47, was charged Wednesday morning in connection with the Monday incident.

The complaint says that Greene was fleeing police and driving an SUV the wrong way on Broadway Avenue when he broadsided the car carrying 28-year-old Travis Kolles and his son Layton. Both vehicles rolled over.

Investigators say the incident began with Greene robbing a pull tab worker at Tootsies Tavern in Big Lake. The charges say that Greene implied that he had a gun.

When police arrived at the crash scene, they said alcohol was detected on Greene’s breath, and he was stumbling erratically. He also admitted to police, while being booked, that he had snorted cocaine earlier that day.

Greene has been charged with four counts of criminal vehicular operation and two counts of fleeing an officer.

Greene is currently in the Wright County Jail on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation. He has a prior drunk driving conviction and does not have a valid driver’s license.

Travis Kolles is still listed as in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center. Doctors said he sustained a traumatic brain injury, fractured ribs, and a collapsed lung. Layton Kolles was reported to be doing better.
