ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) — A 21-year-old St. Cloud man with an outstanding warrant eluded a police pursuit for no more than one minute before crashing his car into an Oak tree, authorities say.
The St. Cloud Police Department said Seth Richard Wallin had an active felony warrant for drug charges and a domestic abuse no contact order.
Authorities said Wallin sped away after a traffic stop at 9:37 a.m. on Monday, leading officers on the Highway 10 frontage road, and then onto 15th Avenue Southeast. Police discontinued the pursuit due to Wallin’s erratic driving.
But just a moment later, a report came in of a vehicle crashing in the 1500 block of Second Street Southeast. Wallin had fled the scene on foot, but was located immediately by arriving officers.
During the arrest, Wallin was found in possession of a small amount of meth.
He will be charged in Benton County with felony fleeing police in a motor vehicle and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.
