7 Suspects Sentenced For Restaurant Credit Card Fraud

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 36-year-old man was sentenced to eight years in prison Thursday, marking the final sentence of seven suspects involved in a credit card skimming operation.

Demetrius Darnell Thomas, of Rogers, was indicted on Aug. 19 with six other co-defendants for a credit card fraud that resulted in an estimated loss of more than $150,000.

On May 18, 2011 Kanetra Danielle Range, 33, of Rogers, was sentenced to more than three years in prison and Makiesha Edwina Mayo, 30, of St. Paul, was sentenced to a year and a half in prison. On April 6, 2011, Anthony Duane Curry, 24, of Plymouth got more than two years in prison, Brian Craig Davis, 48, of Chaska; Nancia Raquel Range, 35, of St. Paul and Brandon Conique Scott, 29, of Eagan were sentenced to time served. All six pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy.

According to court documents, the six defendants participated in a credit card skimming scheme at the end of 2009, where they would transfer one debit or credit card number to another without authorization.

The cards were then used to purchase merchandise and obtain cash.

The credit card fraud occurred at various restaurants throughout the metro.
