MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 27-year-old Hinckley woman has been charged with allegedly stealing cash and gift cards from the mail while working as a postal carrier, the United States Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

A federal indictment unsealed Friday charges Bobbi J. Oradnik with one count of theft of mail by postal employee in connection to the thefts, which allegedly occurred from July 2011 to July 3, 2012.

According to the indictment, Oradnik stole currency and gift cards from letters and envelopes she was entrusted to deliver. At the time, she was working as a rural carrier for the Harris Post Office.

If convicted, Oradnik could face up to 5 years in prison.
