MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said Thursday night a death investigation in Champlin involving a 4-month-old baby dating back to February has been ruled a homicide.

Few details about the case have been made available, but the Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Madyson Lanae Johnson of Champlin. Authorities said the incident was reported on Feb. 20. It’s now known when the actual incident happened, but the baby lived on the 6300 block of 112th Place North.

Johnson died just after 11 a.m. on Feb. 20 at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled she died of blunt force craniocerebral injury.

Authorities are investigating the baby’s death as a homicide but did not release any suspect information.
