MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Investigators with the Minnesota State Patrol now say that it was a pickup truck that hit and critically injured a Wyoming, Minn. man on Interstate 35 Monday night.

Trevor Langlois, 24, was hit by the truck as after he had pulled over on the shoulder of southbound I-35 when his vehicle started acting up. Witness information initially led investigators to believe a sedan hit Langlois, but that was not accurate.

“We’ve got everything from ‘It was a sedan’ to ‘It was a great big SUV,’” said Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole. “But witnesses are not the most reliable sources of information.”

Cole says investigators with the Minnesota State Patrol have confirmed that a Ford F-150 pickup hit Langlois, based on evidence left at the scene. He says they know it’s a newer model F-150 with the XLT package or higher.

Langlois was hit just before 11 p.m. Monday. He was airlifted to a hospital in Duluth where he remains in critical condition.

“This young fellow is in rough shape,” Cole said. “It’s touch-and-go, and if people want to offer a prayer, I’m sure (Langlois’ family) would welcome that.”

Cole said he is confident they will locate the driver and the pickup truck involved, but he urged the driver to make the first move.

“We ask whoever was driving that vehicle to come forward and accept responsibility for what’s happened,” Cole said. “It’s a sorry state of affairs when someone just runs someone else down, and then just flees the scene as if nothing has happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pine County Sheriff’s Office at 320-629-8380.
