Claremount Man Pleads Guilty For Conspiring To Sell Meth

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 33-year-old man from Claremont, Minn., pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court for conspiring to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.

Specifically, Michael Steven Schoenfelder pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute 50 or more grams of meth.

Schoenfelder was indicted along with Clancy Shane Amy on May 6, 2013, as Amy, 38, also from Claremont, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute 50 or more grams of meth.

The defendants admitted that from August 2012 to March 2013, they conspired to distribute meth and other drugs from Mexico to Texas to areas within southeastern Minnesota.

They both admitted to obtaining and selling approximately one pound of meth.

During April 16 search warrant at Amy’s residence, authorities seized about 2112 grams of meth, two digital scales, a 9 mm pistol, a .22-caliber gun, a semi-automatic handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun and a safe that contained $615 of marijuana and meth.
