MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 55-year-old pastor from Cambridge, Minn., was sentenced Wednesday to 160 days in prison and 10 years of probation for sexually assaulting a mentee.
Ryan Jay Muehlhauser had pleaded guilty in February to two felony counts of criminal sexual conduct. According to the complaint, Muehlhauser’s adult male victim said the minister was a mentor for four to five months, during which Muehlhauser would assault the man.
During the assaults, Muehlhauser told the victim that he was “hearing the Lord tell him what to do,” the complaint states.
Among the probation terms are not being employed or to act as a minister, counselor or even a church volunteer, to successfully complete adult sex offender treatment, and to not use any pornographic material.
