MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A major lawsuit was filed Wednesday against the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, and the diocese of Winona.
This is the first civil lawsuit filed under Minnesota’s new law eliminating a statute of limitations for children who were sexually abused.
Lawyer Jeff Anderson says he is requesting the release of a list of 46 priests in the state accused of molesting children.
“Names the community does not know,” Anderson said. “Therefore we don’t know where these offenders are, where they’re working, where they’re living, and what they’re doing — and thus remain a great peril to our children.”
The lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a 51-year-old Twin Cities man, who has asked to remain private.
