MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minneapolis Arson Squad is investigating what it believes are a string of fires that were set intentionally over a 21-day stretch on the city’s north side.
Authorities said three fires have occurred in the McKinley neighborhood since April 24, with two happening as recently as Tuesday. The first fire believed to be arson happened at about 3:57 a.m. on April 24. Investigators said it was a detached garage on the 3300 block of Aldrich Avenue.
The second fire happened on Tuesday at about 3:08 a.m. Authorities said a fire was set to the rear exterior of a home on the 3200 block of Bryant Avenue North. The third fire was set to a detached garage at about 8:52 p.m. Tuesday at an unspecified address.
Authorities said they’re also investigating a suspicious garage fire on the 3300 block of Bryant Avenue North dating back to Nov. 3, 2012.
