MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 29-year-old Minneapolis man has been indicted in connection with a series of armed robberies at four stores and a US Bank.
On Wednesday, Donte McKinley Hollister was charged in federal court with one count of armed robbery and four counts of interference with commerce by robbery, pursuant to the Hobbs Act.
Hollister’s indictment alleges that on Oct. 17, 2011, he stole $1,890 from the US Bank located on 2338 Central Ave. in Minneapolis. He was also connected to four other armed robberies in Golden Valley, Medina, Roseville and St. Louis Park.
If convicted of all charges, Hollister could face a potential maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and 20 years on each count of violating the Hobbs act.
The Hobbs Act allows federal prosecutors to “prosecute violent habitual criminals who commit armed robbery in places of business that involve interstate commerce,” according to the United States Attorney s Office.
