MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities are continuing the Kira Trevino search Thursday near the Interstate 494 bridge in St. Paul.
According to Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Randy Gustafson, crews are searching the Mississippi’s water, not the banks.
The search, which began at 9 a.m., was prompted by a tip, but it did not turn up anything. The search was called off around 2 p.m.
Trevino has been missing since February.
Trevino’s husband, Jeffrey Trevino, is charged with second-degree murder.
Police found a lot of blood in the couples home that matched Kira Trevino’s DNA.
Thursday was just one of many searches police and volunteers have conducted trying to find Kira or evidence of her.
Most of those searches have been centered on Keller Lake in Maplewood. That’s where police got a tip that two people were seen carrying a large object onto the frozen lake in the middle of the night.
