MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 27-year-old Minneapolis man is accused of shooting and killing a Shakopee High School student that was part of a triple shooting during an apparent drug deal, according to charges filed Wednesday in Scott County Court.

Steven Andre Moore has been charged with one felony count of second-degree intentional murder, two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of first-degree aggravated robbery in connection with the April 18 incident.

According to the charges, Shakopee Police were called to the Hunters Ridge Apartments on the 600 block of Gorman Street at about 10:43 p.m. on a report that three people had been shot. Witnesses at the scene told police the three black men had shot three people in an apartment.

The complaint states two victims had suffered gunshot wounds and were alive in the apartment. A third, Marcos Antonio Pantaleon, had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the other victims, Pantaleon’s brother, told police there was a knock on their apartment door shortly before the incident and that he knew the man from selling marijuana to him in the past. They later identified that suspect as Moore.

The victim opened the door, and two men who were with Moore rushed into the apartment with guns. They told the victim to get on the ground and took his wallet. The victim told police his cousin was shot twice, then he was shot and then Pantaleon, his brother, was shot and killed, the complaint states. Marcos Pantaleon was a senior at Shakopee High School.

The three suspects then left the apartment, according to the complaint. Police later traced Moore to a residence on the 4300 block of Fremont Avenue North and arrested him in a back alley at about 7:15 a.m. the following morning.

In an interview with police, Moore denied being in Shakopee or knowing any of the three men who were shot in the apartment. The complaint then states he became emotional and told police that two Somali men put a gun in his chest and told him to call anyone who sells marijuana so they could rob them. He also admitted to knowing the victims.

Moore is currently in the Scott County Jail.
