MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Grand Rapids Police say a man and a juvenile boy have been arrested after a reported burglary and resulting standoff Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Pokegama Avenue North for a reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers saw an individual matching the description of one of the suspects given by the victim.
When officers attempted to stop the suspect, the suspect fled on foot into a nearby home.
Officers set up a perimeter and through investigation, officers were able to identify two potential suspects.
Through the use of a Crisis Negotiator, police were able to get the suspects to leave the home. The man and juvenile boy were then arrested without incident.
The suspects are now being held at Itasca County Jail and the Itaskin Juvenile Detention Center awaiting formal charges.
The suspects’ identities are being withheld until a formal complaint has been signed.
