MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Aaron Schaffhausen trial moves into its third day in Hudson, Wis. Wisconsin on Thursday as prosecutors will continue making their case.
They believe he knew what he was doing when he murdered his three daughters last summer. In court Wednesday, jurors watched an interrogation video from right after the arrest which went on for nearly three hours.
Schaffhausen sat motionless and said nothing during most of the video. He refused medical treatment, but he did get emotional when the investigator talked about his daughters, Amara, Sophie and Cecilia.
“You put them in bed and you covered them up because you wanted them to have peace. You wanted them to have peace,” said an investigator to Schaffhausen during his interrogation.
His ex-wife, Jessica Schaffhausen, took the stand as well. She became very emotional when the defense showed her a picture of her girls. She cried and said “yes, those are my babies.”
She will return to the witness stand Thursday morning.
