MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minneapolis Police Department is joining forces with Crime Stoppers to solve an armed robbery that took place at a bar in the early hours of March 17.
An armed man wearing a clown mask entered the Cedar Inn at 4155 Cedar Ave. S. just after midnight on St. Patrick’s Day. He forced the staff at gunpoint to collect money from patrons and put it in a bag, and then he fled the scene.
Police discovered that the suspect was in the same business a few minutes prior to the robbery without the mask over his face. He was caught on surveillance cameras, which revealed that he was a man wearing a sheer white skull cap and a puffy, white coat.
Authorities are hoping that photos of the suspect will yield information on his identity and whereabouts, and Crime Stoppers of Minnesota is offering a reward of up to $1,000 cash for information.
