MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Though he’s currently incarcerated, fallen auto mogul Denny Hecker remains a man on the move.
Hecker has been moved to the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood in Littleton, Colo., according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The former Twin Cities auto dealer is serving a ten-year sentence for fraud.
Last week, Hecker was moved between two different prisons in Pennsylvania. Earlier this week, he was moved to a federal prison in Oklahoma City where he spent a few days last May.
After being sentenced 2011, Hecker was jailed in Minnesota. He was moved the following year to prisons in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. He has now been in nine prisons in the past 14 months.
Prison officials did not say why they’ve been moving Hecker. They say prisoners may be relocated for a variety of reasons. Those include behavior, prisoner safety or to get the prisoner closer to family or rehabilitation programs.
Hecker is scheduled to be released in 2019.
