MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – A Robbinsdale man who pleaded guilty to shooting and killing a Roseville cab driver has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison.

A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says 21-year-old Samuel Johosephat Taylor showed no remorse before Friday’s sentencing. Taylor said he did what he had to do and he has no regrets.

Taylor was convicted of second-degree murder in the killing 56-year-old William Harper last year. Taylor told the judge he felt his life was in danger because Harper wouldn’t let him out of the cab.

Hennepin County Judge Robert Small told the defendant the taxi dispatcher who sent Harper on the call “felt more guilt than you do.”

Taylor was sentenced to 30 1/2 years in prison and ordered to pay $6,500 in restitution.
