MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 13-year-old student in the Rush City school system was arrested for allegedly creating a hit list titled “bullies,” and even making a “people that won’t be killed” list, authorities say.

“People want answers,” Rush City Schools Superintendent Vern Koepp said. “We do not take it lightly … we sent out a message yesterday to everybody.”

Chisago County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by Chisago County Probation of a school hit list at about 11 a.m. on Thursday, recovered from a teen who was already on probation for previous threats.

Sheriff’s deputies interviewed the 13-year-old boy who confirmed he had put the list together. Authorities interviewed with students who had seen the lists themselves, too.

“Students were concerned about the fact that their names, or other student names were on this list,” Koepp said. “I think that the student allowed others students to see it. Maybe they saw it inadvertently, or he shared it with them. I’m not too sure.”

The 13-year-old was in court Friday morning, and it’s unclear which school he attends.
