MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find an Ortonville man who is accused of murdering his wife in October of 2011.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Ortonville Police, Big Stone County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are teaming up to offer a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Jose Francisco Munoz-Teran. He has been charged by a grand jury with the Oct. 7, 2011, murder of his wife, Renata Fernandez-Ramon.

Authorities say Munoz-Teran picked up their children from school that day and told the staff there he was moving to Mexico. On Nov. 24, 2011, her body was found in a shallow grave and it was determined she was murdered.

Authorities say he likely has their two children, ages 12 and 10, with him, and has connections to Minneapolis, Ortonville, South Dakota and Mexico. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the BCA at (877) 996-6222 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
