MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in Maplewood say they are looking for a suspect after a woman was found dead in the city Saturday morning.
Authorities were called to the area of McKnight Road and Ripley Avenue at about 4:32 a.m. Saturday on a report of a person needing medical attention. When police arrived, a female victim was found dead at the scene.
Chief Dave Kwam says authorities have collected enough evidence at the scene to believe that the woman’s death was a homicide.

“There was evidence present, which I’m not going to release, that would suggest her death was caused by homicide,” Kwam said.
Based on a report from a witness who told police they saw someone in the area at the time of the incident, police are looking for a white man about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with blonde spiked hair. He was wearing black sweatpants and a white hooded-sweatshirt with a green and red design on it.
Anyone who might know the man in question or who has information on the incident is asked to call Maplewood Police at (651) 767-0640.
