MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect involved in two robberies at Metro Transit bus stops this week.
The St. Louis Park Police Department said the robberies occurred in the early morning hours, between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. at the eastbound bus stops along Minnetonka Boulevard in St. Louis Park.
One robbery occurred on Feb. 20, near Minnetonka Boulevard and Colorado Avenue. The second incident occurred on Feb. 21 near Minnetonka Boulevard and Hampshire Avenue.
In both cases, a suspect described as a black man, about 5-foot-5 with a medium build, wearing a mask, dark hooded sweatshirt or a puffy-style jacket approached the victims.
Police say the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money, cell phones and other personal items before fleeing.
The St. Louis Park Police Department reminds people to reduce the chances of being a victim of a robbery by being aware of their surroundings, having a cell phone readily accessible and to report any suspicious people or activity immediately by calling 911.
