NORTH ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say five people have been charged and two others are still in custody after a large fight broke out at North St. Paul High School on Thursday.

North St. Paul Police responded to the high school at about 8:10 a.m. Thursday on a report of a fight. When police arrived, there was a large fight going on in the cafeteria of the school. Five juveniles were taken into custody in the incident, where one person received medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

According to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, three 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old have been charged with third-degree riot, which is a gross misdemeanor. A 16-year-old was charged with obstructing the legal process-interfering with a peace officer.

Their names are being withheld because they are juveniles. A 14-year-old and 15-year-old are being held in the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center pending further investigation.

The incident is still under investigation.
