MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — One man is in custody after a standoff with police.
It started at a home in Rosemount, just before 9 p.m. Saturday night.
Police responded after they say a man called Dakota County’s dispatch center, told them he was armed and made threats against his neighbors.
It took authorities more than two hours of negotiating for him to surrender.
Police say he was not armed and no one was hurt. But they take cases like these very seriously.
“We did deploy all the resources to make sure that everyone was not harmed and so we are still actively investigating the possible charges of terroristic threats,” Beth Richtsneier, of the Rosemount Community Resource Officer.
Police say more than 300 people who live in the area were alerted using an automated phone service and told to stay inside.
