MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are alerting northeast Minneapolis residents after a rash of catalytic converter thefts.
Minneapolis Police say there have been seven catalytic converter thefts since Dec. 1, 2012. The majority of vehicles affected have been Toyota trucks and sport utility vehicles due to easy access and exposure of the converter.
Catalytic converters can be taken to metal recyclers where an average of $50 can be earned for the precious metals inside.
