MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 20-year-old Minneapolis man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of a man on June 12, 2012 in north Minneapolis, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Bryant Deshawn Elliot pleaded guilty Monday.
According to the criminal complaint, Elliott and a friend approached three men walking on 26th Avenue North between Emerson and Dupont Avenues. Elliott then asked them if they had any marijuana and then pulled a gun and pointed it at Daron Bolden’s head. Bolden tried to swat the gun away, but Elliott shot him, killing him almost instantly.
Elliott’s sentencing is set for Feb. 6 and prosecutors will be asking for more than 27 years in prison.
