MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 26-year-old man has been charged after police say he fired shots at a pizza delivery guy, after the man claimed the pizza he ordered was “too small.”

Officers were called around 11:31 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 to a residence on the 2100 block of Russell Avenue North. The victim, a 45-year-old man, said he was delivering a pizza to the residence when the customer began arguing with him.

The customer, identified as Demetrius Patterson, of Chicago, IL, said the size of the pizza was too small and demanded the delivery guy give him both of the pizzas he had in his vehicle.

The victim told police he didn’t want to argue, so he began to leave.

The delivery guy brought the pizza back to his car, but as he was walking, he said Patterson came out of the home and started firing shots at him.

The pizza delivery guy said he was able to flee in his car and was not injured. He then called police.

Police located Patterson in the apartment of his girlfriend and placed him under arrest. They also located shell casings and a handgun in the apartment.

Patterson was booked into Hennepin County Jail. He has been charged with second-degree assault.
