EAGAN, Minn. (WCCO) — Eagan police caught two burglary suspects Monday, because a concerned neighbor monitored them on a camera and called police, authorities said.

The suspects broke into an underground garage at the Shannon Glen condos at around 5:30 a.m., police said.

But this is the amazing part: A woman who lives in the condominiums just happened to be looking at the closed-circuit camera when she spotted two people who looked suspicious, so she called the cops.

If the woman hadn’t called the cops, the suspects might have gotten away, police said.

“They were pulling on door handles and trying to get into cars and possibly stealing things out of vehicles,” said Eagan police officer Danielle Anselment.

The woman stayed on the phone with police until officers arrived at the condominium complex. She then helped officers find the suspects with details about where they were and when, police said.

After some searching, police arrested 25-year-old Andrew Remer and 33-year-old Heidi Fox. Both are expected to be charged with burglary, police said.

Police said they believe the pair broke into a lock box to get access to the garage.

Police also want to remind people not to leave expensive items in cars.
