BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies in Beltrami County have arrested a 56-year-old Bemidji man after a high-speed chase that reached speeds of more than 100 mph.
Authorities say that deputies were called to a residence in Wilton about 9:15 a.m. Saturday on a report of an assault with a knife. On the way, they spotted the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect accelerated away before stopping on Highway 2 and trying to run away. He was caught. An investigation found the man has allegedly broken the victim’s nose and threatened the victim with a knife.
The suspect is in jail and may be charged with multiple felonies.
