ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – A 50-year-old man was sentenced to more than five years in prison on Monday in connection with the burglary of a popular bakery stand at the Minnesota State Fair.

Eric Landon Massey pleaded guilty Monday in Ramsey County Court to one felony count of first-degree burglary. Massey and Robert Lee Love had been accused of breaking into the French Meadow Bakery and Café along Carnes Avenue on Aug. 25 while its owners were sleeping. They got away with $24,000.

Massey and Love were captured on surveillance video getting into the booth through the back door and breaking into the office. During the investigation, police also found about $9,000 in cash hidden in Massey’s apartment.

Massey has also been ordered to pay restitution, but that part of the case will remain open as Love is still in trial.
