LA CROSSE, Wis. (WCCO) — A Minnesota man charged with killing a father and son at their photography shop will make his first appearance in a Wisconsin court on Friday.
Jeffrey Lepsch, of Dakota, was extradited to the La Crosse County jail in Wisconsin on Thursday. The 38-year-old had been held at the jail closest to his home near Winona since his arrest last week. He’s been charged with homicide and robbery in the shooting deaths of Paul and A.J. Petras.
Investigators say Lepsch walked into ‘May’s Photography Shop’ last month and shot owners Paul Petras and his son A.J. in the head. When they searched Lepsch’s home, they found thousands of dollars worth of stolen camera equipment.
They believe he took it from the store. According to the La Crosse Tribune, some of the items stolen from the shop were sold on Craigslist.
Lepsch was convicted in 2003 of stealing items from his workplace and selling them online.
