RAMSEY, Minn. (WCCO) – A 45-year-old Ramsey man allegedly sped away from police on a four-wheeler before trying to hide in a trailer park, according to a criminal complaint filed in Anoka County.
Randy Lee Peterson has been charged with feeling a peace officer and speeding.
The complaint states that at about 5:48 p.m. on Oct. 9, a Ramsey police officer, in a marked car, saw a four-wheeler going faster than the posted speed limit of 30 mph. Radar said the ATV was traveling at 44 mph.
The officer turned on his emergency lights and saw Peterson, and his passenger, turn their heads back to see the officer’s car before accelerating.
The complaint says the ATV then drove on city streets at a high rate of speed, trying to evade the officer before the cop lost sight of it in a trailer park.
Police ended up finding the four-wheeler in the trailer park, with a garbage can and lawn chairs trying to hide it.
Police eventually located the passenger, Ryan Graves, who then led officers to Peterson.
