HUDSON, Wis. (WCCO) - Authorities in St. Croix County have arrested a jail inmate who had removed his GPS bracelet and escaped custody while out on a court-ordered job in River Falls, Wis.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office said Jesse A. Marske, 25, was scheduled to return to the county jail at 2 a.m. Friday. Marske was out for a work-release program job when he removed his GPS bracelet and fled custody.

On Saturday afternoon, a citizen reported to police that they spotted Marske in the area of US Highway 12 and Brakke Drive in Hudson Township.

St. Croix County Sheriff’s deputies located Marske, who was arrested without incident.

Sheriff John Shilts had previously stated that Marske’s disappearance was worrisome due to a previous sexual assault conviction.

Marske was serving a sentence for disorderly conduct and two counts of failure to support a child. He was due to be released next month.

New criminal charges are pending as the investigation continues.
