MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 20-year-old Minneapolis man has been sentenced to more than 25 years in prison for a man’s shooting death in January 2011, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
Ladell James Johnson was given the 302-month sentence Wednesday by Hennepin County District Court Judge Allen Oleisky.
In January 2011, Johnson shot and killed Stanley Rogers Sr. in a van at 37th Street East near the alley between Third and Clinton Avenues South. According to the criminal complaint, Johnson and another man, Gary Griffen, went to rob Rogers – who often has crack cocaine and money – and fatally shot him.
Griffen was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
