MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A former Jackson, Minn., bank officer received a one-year prison sentence Tuesday for embezzling between $30,000 and $120,000 from bank customers, the U.S. Department of Justice said.
Carolyn Faye Hampel, 66, pleaded guilty to embezzling bank funds from United Prairie Bank on April 12, 2012. She admitted to embezzling money from January 2005 to August 2011, the department said.
She was sentenced to 12 months and one day in federal prison and was also ordered to pay more than $130,000 in restitution.
